DIAMONDS AND DIAMOND GRADING COURSE
This is a 2 months course dealing with diamonds and diamond grading or how to judge the quality of cut and polished diamonds. The course starts from introduction with the diamonds and goes through to teach the physical and chemical properties of the diamond and the factors affecting diamond value as per International Standards. Emphasis is also laid on separating the diamond from other substitutes existing in the market.

WHAT YOU SHALL LEARN IN THIS COURSE

  • You shall learn how to judge the 4 C’s that is the Clarity, Color, Cut and Carat weight as per Internationally Recognised Grading System of Gemological Institute of America.
  • You shall handle actual diamonds during the learning process and shall be actually grading them to learn the system.
  • You shall learn how to separate the Diamond from various other substitutes like Cubic Zirconia, Strontium Titanate, YAG, GGG, Synthetic Moissainite etc.
  • You shall learn how the diamond forms, how it is cut polished, how the International Marketing and Pricing of diamond goes about, etc. etc.

  2. Mining, Recovery, Cutting and Polishing of the diamond
  3. Optical Properties, ideal cut and variations from the ideal
  4. Handloupe, Microscope and Types of illumination
  5. Clarity Grading of Diamonds
  6. Color Grading of Diamonds
  7. Fancy Color
  8. Grading for cut
  9. Valuation of Diamonds
  10. World Diamond Market Structure with Indian context
  11. Diamond and it’s substitutes

DURATION & TIMINGS:

The Duration of the course is 2 months and classes are held Mondays to Fridays for    1 ½ hours each. The Timing, Fee and Duration of classes are indicated in the Schedule of Timings, Fees etc. provided herewith at the end.
